Transforming Education on Mfangano Island
66 Schools • 0 Modern Libraries • 0 Modern Labs
On Mfangano and its sister islands our primary focus is on ensuring that all students graduate from high school prepared for college and have an opportunity to earn a post-secondary degree with labor-market value. Our approach is to play a catalytic role to support the development of innovative solutions in education that are unlikely to be generated by institutions working alone and that can trigger change on a broader scale.
We work to improve Mfangano and its sister islands primary schools, high schools and post-secondary education. We support the education of vulnerable girls on the island as well as the education of orphans and vulnerable children.
With a population of over 37,000 residents and numerous schools, including 36 primary Schools, 19 junior secondary schools, and 11 Secondary Schools, it's shocking that none of them have a modern, well-equipped library.
Our mission is to ensure every student who graduates in high school is ready for college and equipped with the skills to thrive in the workforce. We believe in catalyzing change through innovative education solutions, but we can't do it alone.
Led by the visionary Samuel Odoyo, the Sagrema Foundation has been tirelessly working towards this goal for over four years. Now, with your support, we can turn this dream into reality. By donating, you'll provide vulnerable girls, orphans, and all students on the island with access to quality education resources.
Let's come together to build the first centralized community library on Mfangano Island. Your contribution will not only brighten the future of these students but also illuminate the entire population with the light of education. Join us in making a lasting impact today.

Help us with applying for grants, online fund-raises and academic education (if experienced).
We refurbish old school buildings and or help build new classrooms, since our children are learning in below standard classrooms. Assist us in building schools, so that our children can learn in descent classrooms.

We provide classroom lockers, desks and chairs to classrooms in the community. More fund-raisers, volunteers, donors, and well-wishers are needed to join hands and help the community provide classroom furniture to help our children's learning process.
